At last King Winter has wrapped Strauman in a thick, glittering blanket of snow once more. The mercury has moved in a negative direction, and at the time of writing it stands at 6 degrees below zero outside, in our favour. The sky stretches clear, the frost haze and the northern lights present themselves outwardly, inviting us out for some ski ballet.

Strauman Sports Club is delighted to report that the snowmobile has been given a clean bill of health, and the lit trail in Sydal now has freshly groomed, silky-smooth tracks. There are few things that beat the feeling of setting your ski tips into fresh tracks when the cold bites at your cheeks and the clear winter air fills you with new energy.

On Sunday at 12 noon we are therefore inviting everyone to a group ski outing for all who wish to join. Whether you are a keen skier or just want to wander a lap in the winter splendour, you are warmly welcome. We meet at the cabin, and this is also where we gather after the trip.

And when you then return from winter's kingdom, with snow in your ski boots massaging the Achilles tendon. And like the man in the iron mask, you can finally free yourself from a frozen and condensed fleece neck warmer. What could be better than diving into freshly baked waffles? To grab a waffle in this moment is not merely to eat. It is to take part in an ancient pact between toil and reward; a golden dispensation from your New Year's resolution that safeguards both motivation and mental health.

It is not only the Olympic flame that is being lit these days. Here in Sydal too the fire shall be kept alive, both in the embers of the grill and just as much in the spirit of community work. What you wish to put on the grill is up to each person's own provisions and judgement, and we will make sure the fire is ready.

Think of winter not as a burden, but as a gift, one that is currently showing itself at its very best! With that, Strauman Sports Club welcomes everyone to the lit trail!
